02 — Adolescence

Adolescence nutrition: Growth & confidence.

Bodies and schedules change fast in the teen years. Food in this stage supports growth, energy, periods, sport and focus — without body talk and without rules.

What changes in this stage

Your body asks different things of food.

  • Iron needs rise

Periods raise iron needs, and low iron often shows up as tiredness before anything else.

  • Growth needs regular fuel

Skipped meals catch up as energy dips and irritability. Regular meals do more than any supplement.

  • Independence grows

Canteens, tuition schedules and friends now shape food choices. Skills matter more than menus.

Questions

For this stage.

Who do you work with?

Everyone. Our depth in women’s health — PCOS, pregnancy, menopause — stays, and alongside it we work with men’s hormone health, children’s nutrition and whole families. If you eat, you’re welcome here.

Do I have to give up my regular food?

No. Dal, roti, idli, curd and rice are the foundation, not the problem. We work with what your kitchen already cooks and make small adjustments that add up.

Are you a dietitian?

No. Mrs. Mudavath Shirisha is not registered as a dietitian. Her study so far: Food Science and Technology, GITAM University (2025). Currently pursuing Nutrition and Dietetics at MNR University. We’re clear about scope: nutrition guidance alongside your doctor, never instead of them.
